Lazy cockroaches and the girls who photograph them

Scene: A woman gets up in the middle of the night, shuffles in bleary-eyed to the kitchen and fumbles for the light switch. Flip. SQUEEEEEELL! A dozen little leggy roaches go scattering and scuttling in every direction as the lady chases them vainly with her slipper or, in some versions, hops up on a chair and wails for assistance.

Isn't that how it's supposed to go?

But it was quite a different thing tonight as I was sitting up on our roof terrace, for the first time since spring really set in, and several little cockroaches came wandering idly up to my little blanket. They came one at a time, posed very nicely for some pictures, and then trotted away without a single scuttle when I shooed them. Very odd little bugs.

But then, I guess they were expecting different from me too.

  2. yup - you are one brave girl...I would be on the stool squealing! Of course up north we have fewer and none where I live...or they would be frozen! creepy, crawly photos...

I have been watching 11 pheasants eating in the drive where the snow has been removed.

  3. Thanks for checking out my blog! I instantly wanted to check out your own especially when you mentioned tales from Peru which is where one of my friend's are from and currently staying.
Nice cockroach pictures. I get so many in my house, and when I do find them I call out for my dog to kill it. I could never have let them live so kudos to you!

I'D DIE IF THAT HAPPENED TO ME. OMG!!!! AAAAHH!!! I HATE COCKROACHES.

    THEY ARE THE DEVILS.

I'll one day prove this theory to be totally legitimate.
